East is a quarterly print magazine that examines the unique communities at the tip of Long Island colloquially known as "the Hamptons." From a local perspective, it aims to make sense of the tensions that arise in a tiny area concentrated with extraordinary wealth and poverty, a rich artistic legacy, and diligently preserved natural beauty.

Published by The East Hampton Star, the area's most enduring newspaper (founded 1885), East releases three issues over the summer and one in the winter.
